Commercial

30% Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit

The single biggest lever for commercial solar economics in Canada right now.

  • A refundable federal tax credit worth up to 30% of the capital cost of eligible solar and battery storage equipment - refundable means you get cash back even if you owe no tax that year.
  • Applies to taxable Canadian corporations (including partnership members) and REIT mutual fund trusts - it is a business credit, not available to individual homeowners.
  • Covers property acquired and put into use through the end of 2033 at the full 30% rate; the rate steps down to 15% for property put into use in 2034, and the credit ends after that.
  • No fixed dollar cap - a $400,000 commercial system could see roughly $120,000 back.

This is general information, not tax or legal advice. Confirm eligibility and current rules with your accountant or the Canada Revenue Agency before making a decision.

Residential

Residential incentives

There are no federal or provincial incentive specifically for residential solar in Newfoundland and Labrador right now - the main federal homeowner programs closed in 2024-2025. That can change quickly. Leave your email and we'll let you know the moment a residential incentive becomes available.
